“Be aggressive in attacking, whether it is a feint or a direct attack.”
Fu Jow Pai, also known as Tiger Claw, is a style of Kung Fu known for its powerful claw and great external strength and agility. This
system originated in Shaolin Temple. Originally called “Hark Fu Moon” or “Black Tiger System”, Grandmaster Wong Bil Hong renamed
the art to “Fu Jow Pai” before his death in honor of his Shaolin Monk Master.
Training in Fu Jow Pai produces strength in the bones, joints, and tendons. Many of the exercises are designed to strengthen the back
and spine as well as the arms and forearms. Forms are also part of the training in Fu Jow Pai. Different defensive and offensive techniques
are learned through the practice of forms.
Many of the blows and kicks in Fu Jow Pai are delivered from the bow, arrow, and horse stance. Iron Hand and Tiger Claw training are
also emphasized on training. Exercises to develop coordination and endurance are also part of the Fu Jow Pai training regimen.
The student of Fu Jow Pai develops the tenacity of an attacking tiger with dedicate and continuous training. This mental attitude will help
the student deliver as well as take the powerful blows of an attacker. Today, Fu Jow Pai is one of the fastest growing systems of Kung
Fu in the world.
