The creation of Ying Jow Pai is credited to a famous general named Gnok Fei.

Shaolin Eagle Claw Ying Jow Pai is one of the most visually exciting and physically challenging style of Kung Fu. It is known for its flips, splits, and jumping kicks. It enhances flexibility, coordination, balance, and focus.

The clawing hand, which is used for grabbing opponents, is the most famous hand technique of Ying Jow Pai. Other techniques used in Ying Jow Pai are punches, palm strikes, and kicks found in most Northern Style Kung Fu. Ying Jow Pai fighting techniques are based on clawing, locking, pressure point strikes, and controlling.

Punches and palm strikes are executed relaxed, but firm, until the end when the hand and the arm are hardened for added snapping power. Movements are fast then slow, yielding then advancing, depending on the need of the situation and the technique to be employed. The students of Yin Jow Pai learns to at once be strong as a mountain, and then as yielding as a blade of grass in the wind.
